The Area Foundation was incorporated on February 1, 1999, as a wholly non-profit corporation under the laws of the State of Nebraska. It is recognized a charitable organization by the Internal Revenue Service.

The purpose of the Foundation is to offer citizens and former residents of the Scribner area an effective way to invest in the future of the area. This can result in positive occurrences for the area as well as a tax savings for the donor or his or her estate.

The foundation is managed by a Board of Directors who serve a three-year term. They represent a wide area of the community and are well accquainted with the affairs of the area.
