Perennials and decorative grasses will be planted in May.

Donations are being accepted to help with costs that were not covered by the grant program. Turf was not a covered expense. Community members and businesses making donations to have sod laid and to have an automated drip tape system installed. Scribner-Snyder Breaks Ground On Sports Complex

The rain let up just long enough Thursday morning for a dry overturning of dirt at the official groundbreaking for the Scribner-Snyder Youth Sports Complex.

"Six women started a plan to respond to the community concerns at our ball field," said Deb Eggleston, Scribner economic development coordinator, said of the Scribner chapter of the Nebraska Community Improvement Program. "We’ve quickly grown from a group of six to a committee of more than 20."
